Town Planning solutions for the preservation of old quarters in historical cities
Town planning in historical cities is the first step for the preservation of urban or architectural heritage. Our firm, AUC, or its members individually has taken part in the preservation plans of more than fifty historical centers in cities of Asia, South and Central America and Europe. Of all these cities, 25 of them are included in UNESCO’S World Heritage List.
For AUC, protection plans in historical centers are in fact “action plans”, strategic tools that allow for things to happen, and that succeed in transforming starting situations of ruin, dereliction and lack of opportunities in degrades historical centers, recovering in a sustainable way their vitality, and leaning in social participation, heritage recycling and reuse and respect for the population lifestyle.
